Column Award Rules and Regulations

*** 2005 "THE COLUMN" THEATRE AWARDS RULES & GUIDELINES ***



Here are the rules, guidelines, and regulations regarding eligibility for the 2005 "The Column" Theatre Awards.

(1) For a play or musical, its production staff, its performers, etc. to be eligible for the 2005 Column theater awards, there are two ways in which the production can be deemed eligible:
  • (A)    The production was observed and/or reviewed by the Executive Director/Producer or an appointed Advisory Board member. However only those board members specifically appointed by the Executive Director/Producer are acceptable.
AND/OR
  • (B) The official program/playbill from that production was submitted to the Executive Director/Producer and/or Advisory Board Member. The program/playbill may ONLY be submitted by the following: The Artistic Director, Producer(s), Director, Publicity Chairperson, Musical Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, Guild President, or performer who was in the actual production of the playbill/program being submitted.
(2) ONLY Productions produced and mounted in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area are eligible (This includes Denton Texas, Arlington Texas, Terrell Texas as well). If you are not sure if your theater company is eligible, please contact the Executive Director/Producer immediately.
(3) Productions produced and mounted between October 1, 2004 and November 30, 2005 are eligible for the 2005 Awards. NOTE: If the production was in the 2004 eligibility season and was considered eligible last season, it cannot be eligible this year.
(4) Annual Christmas Productions are not eligible.
(5) FRAUD, MISREPRESENTATION, FALSE INFORMATION, FAKE NAMES, etc. will not be accepted or tolerated. Too much time, energy, and man-hours are spent on the electronic ballot to have these sort of situations occur.
It is the sole responsibility of the Theater Company to double check the master ballot (when it will be available to the subscribers) to make sure correct names, etc. are listed with their theater companies and its productions. If there are errors, misinformation, etc. on the master ballot, please contact the web designer immediately.
However if this error is not corrected and it is discovered after the master ballot has been officially opened for voting, the following will happen:
The theater company in which this errors is discovered will have its entire eligible list of productions, nominees, etc. to be disqualified and/or cannot be submitted. Thus it is the responsibility of each theater company to make sure all names, etc. are correct prior to submitting.
