THE
FIRST EVER 2003 "THE COLUMN" THEATRE AWARDS
READER'S
POLL NOMINATION CEREMONY
Sunday, October 26th, 2003
6:00 p.m.
(Guests please arrive by 5:45 p.m.)
Dallas Theater Center
3636 Turtle Creek Boulevard at Blackburn
Dallas, Texas.
With growth, comes
expansion.
As we enter our 5th year in presenting "The Column" Theatre Awards,
the attendance at this gala continues to grow. To meet this growing
demand is one major reason why we have moved this year's grand gala
to the Patty Granville Performing Arts Complex.
To continue on this journey of new ideas, we are extremely pleased to
announce that for the FIRST time in our five year history, "The
Column" Theatre Awards will have its first ever Readers Poll
nomination ceremony!
The Executive Director/Producer, Executive Producers, and the
Advisory Board Members will be announcing the official nominees in
the READER'S POLL categories within "The Column" Theatre Awards.
Previous years the nominees were announced via the Internet. But this
year we have decided to hold an official nomination ceremony.
The nomination ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October
26th, 2003 at the beautiful Kalita Humphreys Theater, which is
located at the Dallas Theater Center, 3636 Turtle Creek Boulevard at Blackburn. We ask that all guests arrive by 5:45 p.m. Due to time
constraints, we must begin promptly at 6:00p.m.
Which leads us to another fantastic surprise and new creative
endeavor that brings "The Column" Awards and excellent live theater
together!
After the ceremony, stay with us in the Dallas Theater Center Lobby
for food and drink! The fare will consist of sandwiches, fruit
plates, salads and small entrees at an average cost of $4-$5.
But wait, there's more! Please stay and join us for a performance of
Tennessee Williams' haunting THE GLASS MENAGERIE, which will be in
previews at the Dallas Theater Center on the very night of the
nomination ceremony! This is their "Pay what you can" performance.
Curtain for THE GLASS MENAGERIE is at 7:30 p.m.
This unique evening of bringing these two organizations together
could not have happened without the support and guidance of the
Dallas Theater Center's Artistic Director, Mr. Richard Hamburger and
the Director of Marketing & Audience Development, Mr. Bob Wasinger.
The board, producers, and Executive Director sincerely thank these two gentlemen for
helping us bring this new "idea" to fruition.
